Wearing Rings and Jewelry
If you are in an open, public space, such as a park or bus stop, you can disguise rings with large, precious stones as plain bands by rotating them so the gems are facing into the palm of your hand. This will make you less conspicuous while you sit and wait for an extended period of time. Keep necklaces and chains tucked into your shirt. Also be aware that you do not need to wear all of your best jewelry every time you leave the house. If you are only picking up a few items from the grocery store, you may want to dress more casually. No one has a right to assault you, and in the event of an assault, it is never your fault. The fault lies with the person who CHOSE to assault you. However, it is important to remember that an assault is a CHOICE made by a criminal, and they look for people who they view as targets. Concealing jewelry is one way to make yourself appear as a less appealing target to an assailant. Until next time...Be Safe.
